Dr. Elmer W. Harder is an Obstetrician & Gynecologist serving the San Diego southern region where he has had the privilege of delivering approximately 14,000 babies, as well as performed thousands of gynecological surgeries over the past 25 years. Dr. Harder and his Staff offer a compassionate, supportive and professional environment that provides each patient with a personal approach to their healthcare. The patients are offered the latest advances in the ever evolving field of Medicine, in combination with evidence based safe Obstetrical and Gynecological care. His warm bedside manner and always genuine caring is what patients remember the most.

Dr. Harder was born in Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Loma Linda, California and his medical degree from the University Autonoma, Mexico. His post graduate Internship was at University of Loma Linda Medical School and he completed a four year specialty residency in OB/GYN at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dr. Harder for over 20 years has contributed to local hospitals as acting Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Reproductive Medicine as well as Medical Executive Committees. He also has the distinctive honor of being requested to serve as member of the Hospital Board of Directors. He has been bestowed with the Patient Choice Award in 2008 and 2009. He maintains active privileges at Paradise Valley Hospital, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center and Scripps-Mercy Hospital of Chula Vista. His special interests are to provide the highest Obstetrical Care to the South Bay community. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and fishing.
